Dr Adrian Gleiss

Murdoch University, Harry Butler Institute

Dr Adrian Gleiss has spent more time half-submerged in estuaries and remote waterways than most people spend near the coast in a lifetime, and he wouldn't have it any other way.

A Senior Lecturer in Marine Biology at Murdoch University's Harry Butler Institute, Adrian uses cutting-edge biologging and tracking technologies to unlock one of marine science's most compelling questions: not just where animals go, but why they move, how they make decisions, and how those behaviours are shifting as our oceans change around them.

On the night, Adrian will bring us into the hidden world of marine animal behaviour and make the case for why understanding how these creatures live is one of the most important things we can do for the ocean they call home.
